About ALVA

ALVA was born in Stockholm, Sweden, from a desire to carry forward the almost-forgotten magic woven through Nordic culture.

In the old stories of the North, nature was never merely a backdrop. It was a living presence — the mist over the meadow, the breath of the forest, the movement of water and fire, sometimes taking form as beings of extraordinary beauty and mystery.

The long darkness of the northern night gave shape to a world of myth, wonder and heroism. Around the warmth of the fire, stories brought colour to the darkness and were carried from one generation to the next. That contrast lives within every ALVA creation: vivid, hand-painted colour emerging from deep black, like fragments of magic held within the night.

Each piece is carefully made by hand in Stockholm and created as a quiet portal into the hidden North — not as it appears on a map, but as it survives in memory, myth and imagination.
